A daily loop built around how you feel
Get On By works because it never assumes you're the same person you were yesterday. The core loop takes about 30 seconds to start — and it shapes everything that follows.
The daily loop
Four steps, every day
Check in
Each morning, choose green, amber, or red to tell the app how you're feeling. No lengthy questions — just one honest moment that changes everything that follows.
Get your plan
Based on your check-in, Get On By builds a task plan tailored to your capacity for the goal you want to achieve. On amber and red days, big tasks are broken into smaller steps. On green days, your task is straight forward.
Work through it
As you work through your tasks, your feelings may change. A quick additional check in will update your plan accordingly.
Support when it matters
On a red day or moment, a Get On By job coach is notified and gets in touch within 30 minutes to help you engage your coping strategies and take a first, manageable step.
The traffic light system
Your check-in shapes your whole day
The traffic light isn't just a mood tracker — it's the engine of the whole app. Everything from your task list to your coping strategy prompts adapts to what you choose each morning.
Green — feeling good
Your full task list is available. Get On By keeps you organised and moving forward with your usual plan.
Amber — struggling a little
Tasks are broken into more manageable smaller steps throughout your day to help you stay on track.
Red — a really tough day
Your plan simplifies to the essentials. A Get On By job coach will reach out to help you make a start or adjust.
The red light responder
Practical support on your hardest days
When you check in at red, you won't just be left with an app. A Get On By job coach — someone who knows your plan and coping strategies — will be in touch.
Red light responder Coming soon
On a red check-in, a Get On By job coach receives an alert and contacts you — by phone, text, or email — within 30 minutes. Their role is practical and focused: to help you open your coping strategies, choose one that fits, and make a start on a task — or decide together to defer the task and focus on a strategy first.
This is task-focused support from a trained job coach. It is not a crisis line or emergency service.
If you are in crisis, please contact your GP, call 111, or reach the Samaritans on 116 123.
Coping strategies
Your own toolkit, always within reach
During onboarding, you'll select and build a personalised library of common coping strategies — things that work with others for anxiety and stress. In the situations where you need bespoke strategies, coping strategy sessions are available by Get On By that offer personalised strategies. These strategies are available to you on the go and when a responder contacts you.
You can search strategies at any time, bookmark your favourites, and add even your own new ones as you discover them. They're yours.
Task templates
Nothing starts from scratch
You can create templates out of your broken down tasks set by Get On By or you can set the steps manually yourself. Tasks like weekly reporting, job applications, setting appointments, daily routines, and more. When a task comes around again, you're not starting from a blank page.
Templates can be created by you during onboarding and updated any time from your profile. Also, you could use Get On By task coaching to help build bespoke ways of completing tasks based on your unique needs and abilities.
